Release Notes
UniRep Social v1
Oct / 14 / 2022
We are proud to present a new and improved version of UniRep Social. In this release, we’ve focused on performance, ease of use, and onboarding new users. We look forward to continue iterating UniRep Social based on your feedback – and eventually deploying to Mainnet.
Some updates from our newest release below:
New Rep system
Users can now use the free Rep-handout (subsidy) to interact with other Unirep users. This iteration was intended to solve the inflation issue from the previous airdrop mechanism and encourage users to do more interactions within the app.
Easy sign up
UniRep Social is now integrated with OAuth to enable easier sign-in using web2 social credentials from (example?) The imported credentials will not be used in the app, instead a random semaphore ID will be generated, so users remain fully anonymous. This is a change from the invitation code system, which we realized is not very scalable.
Rich text editor
For users not familiar with the markdown syntax, UniRep Social now includes a rich text editor to let users easily edit posts or comments with bold text, italic text, images, etc.
